Behind the Scenes
A lawyer by trade, I began my career at the age of 24. Ironically, and almost instantly, I found myself frustrated by the antagonistic nature of the legal profession and the spiritually / emotionally / socially unconscious way that so many people do business. I knew that something had to shift for me so that I could balance my sensitive heart with the hard lines of a very left-brained world. I looked for answers outside-of-the-box.
Heart Law became my bridge. Though I had no delusions of being able to transform an entire profession, I understood that real change must begin within and then extend outward to our families, organizations, groups, cities, nations and the world at large. And I hoped that by connecting with myself and committing to a higher, more conscious way of living and doing business that I could help transform the world around me (or at least change my perception of it).
In time, I emerged as a universal lawyer: An advocate and counselor of both "man's law" and the universal heart law that I write about; moving freely between the physical and spiritual worlds and the right and left sides of my brain.
Inspiration is a wonderful instrument of change--through it, the mind expands in every direction, breaking all self-imposed boundaries and limitations--and brings with it the sweet taste of freedom. When I reflect on the road I've traveled, I see that each choice, each move, and each new pursuit, brought me one step closer to the freedom that I cherish.
Today, my life looks very different than when I first began my career as a lawyer. My passion for problem solving, helping others, creativity and business led me to follow some very different paths where I have been a lawyer, business consultant, teacher, speaker, freelance writer, photographer, artist and philanthropist.
Still, I roam.
